My biology is to blameFor my lack of strengthMy anatomy never cameClose to being something I could count onThe absurdity of loveThe heredity of me Mixed up with you
At 4:16 a.m. David Bowie is singing about changes, my coffee cup is empty and I'm dying of boredom. There's lots of things I could have been doing tonight, but this weird sleepless half-life I've been living this week only lends itself to asinine south park impressions, obscene references to corn dogs and discussions about the recreational uses of Chocolate milk. Ok, that's not entirely true. I've spent some time working on my songs... (the quote above is from my latest) But seriously...I can't deal with these nights of nothing-ness. I'm a sunshine girl! The planet earth is blue and there's nothing I can do. Oh and speaking of bowie....Dane sent me this rad article about Iggy Pop....pretty interesting reading. My favorite quote, "If you look at him from behind, he looks like he's fifteen. But he turns around and he looks like the iceman they dug up in the Alps." So true..... ~e

We talked about loss and the patterns of past and the pieces of ourselves we'd killed over time We thought then of love, and surrendered our eyes and I looked for myself through your dissolving disguise. My breath in is your breath out, we begin and for a moment lifting this deception of being separate from you My breath in is your breath out, we walk in, into the ocean, shifting my perception of being one drop of dew~Sheila Nicholls
Well kids...it's 1:52 a.m. I'm going crazy inside this beige world....but I can't complain about the job...drivin' a nice car, livin' in a nice place...Tiffany is driving me crazy. I'm punishing her by making her listen to Sir Mix-a-lot's "Square dance rap" . good times. :) Not a whole lot going on here. Spent most of the night training on ComSec stuff. *yawn* boooring.... Anyway, not too many new things...check out the artists page for Sean Morse's up coming shows. Also because of my insane schedule this week, I won't be going to the Merc, so no reviews...I know, this sucks, but suck it up! ~e

Hello everyone...In case you're wondering why the heck I'm posting this late at night, it's because I am working the night shift during this week, and instead of doing security like I thought I would be, I'm just chilling here waiting for the sunrise. and strangely enough, really craving sushi. Which brings me to my first ramble of the night....Sushi is like sex....if you've never had it, you don't really get what the big deal is....then once you've had it, you want it all the time. It's just so dang good. :-D So, back to the reason I'm posting...I just bought the Issue of Rolling Stone with the big ass article about John Mayer, since the rest of the issue is pretty much garbage, I thought I'd include the article for your reading pleasure, just to save you a few bucks. So, here I'll be all night long....maybe I'll add more to my post, it depends on how loopy I get at about 3:30 a.m.~e

I've been waiting up for you to rescue me,To come around and cover everything.I’m relying on my best memory,To breathe for me, breathe for me…So much better than all this, all this..Tired of singing sad songs in my head,But I can’t find enough of anything to drown out what you said. And I can still smell summer on your skin,And I can still remember giving in.Wrapped all up in your hips, and in your sheets,It felt great falling, falling...~Matt Nathanson
Hey all! Just a quick note with much more to come. The big show at Angie's last night was awesome...so much talent in the room it was hard to believe...I'm going to be working crazy hours next week, so I can't promise how much updating will be done...maybe a lot, maybe none at all. It all depends on how work is going...so until then, these pictures should have to tide you over. love & peace,~e

Just a quick note and then I'm off. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who's been checking out the site. I've got some bites for designing some freelance stuff, so I wanted to take this opportunity to clarify a few things. First of all, I love designing and creating web pages, it's great practice for me and I'm happy to help out people that don't really have the means. In fact, as a rule, I only help people who can't afford to hire a designer, and I have to like their music. :) However, I don't do web page maintenance. I can give you a design and I can recommend a free server, but that free server doesn't host MP3's, you have to pay to have those kinds of files hosted. So, if you have any questions about what's available and how much it will cost you to set up your site. Check out these links:Brinkster.com (hosting $15-40 depending on how much space you want)Dotster.com (domain purchase about $30.00 for two years)Bravenet.com (free guestbook, counter etc.) Cafepress.com (free merch design)If you'd like to have me design for you, drop me an e-mail and we can talk about what I can do for you. But I won't even get started on the site until you find someone who has Dreamweaver skills, or knows html to help you with your updates and such.Have a great weekend,~erin
p.s. don't forget to head out to Angie's tomorrow night for the big show!
NOTE: The time for the show at angie's has been changed to 9:00pm . Be there!

Hello All! This is by far the worst Thursday I've had in a while. They've been testing the fire alarms all morning so my brain is fried from hearing that constant noise. And there is so much stuff to be done, I'm pretty sure that the gym, my one outlet that I really need, is not going to be happening today. We had a VTC this morning that went horribly, actually, didn't go off at all and to top it off, I was a little late to work today and got in trouble. :( POOH ON WORK!!!!!!! I would give my right arm to be somewhere in Europe right now.....just hanging out with friends.....just get me away from the Air Force! But on the other hand....I had a great time last night at The Merc. It was a great show that was kicked off by a guy who was just touring through Denver and got into town a day early. his name was Robbie McDonald and he's the lead singer of a band called Trip Adagio. He's an awesome piano player and he's got a really great voice. He's super nice and really interesting, I can see why his songs are so good. I'm bummed I didn't bring my camera, last night would have been a good time to have it. Anyway, Dane, Tim and Wil all did wonderful as usual. It sounds like it's not going to be too much longer before Tim gets his first CD out. I'm really excited for him....you guys are going to be blown away by his songs...Well, I got to run, but before I go, I just want to say. I love chicken nuggets. :)~erin

Greeting and Salutations!Today is my Monday and also...hump day! HUZZAH! I'm so glad the week is almost over and payday is tomorrow...Anyhoo, Friday was fun. I hung out with Nick and we went and saw Elf. Will Farrell is frickin' hilarious! On Saturday I went over to Sheila's to play guitar and sing and whatnot...we had a blast. (We also had about 3 bottles of wine which may have significantly raised the fun level.) Sunday was a rest day....Hung out with Tim for a bit, had dinner at Jerusalem and saw Sean Morse play at Common Grounds. That guy is unbelievably talented, he put on a great show, really impressed the hell out of everyone. He doesn't have an actual website yet, but you can download some of his music here. Dave Preston jumped on stage for a short set and wowed everyone with his energy and his cool yellow t-shirt.Monday was supposed to be Goal Day...(Not sure what that meant, but I didn't have to work that day, so I was happy) Actually, I ended up going into work anyway for a bit to work on my Jeopardy game for our Squadron Holiday party....(It's going to be so funny...I'm going to dress up as Alex Trebek and everything!) So then I went out with Nick to P.F. Changs for dinner. I'd never eaten there before, but it was really good...Yesterday, I really didn't do too much...I played guitar for a few hours, worked on a couple songs, and watched Primetime interview Jessica Lynch. The story probably should have made the military look a lot more heroic than it did...I have mixed feelings about the whole situation...At least she's home now. Unlike a lot of people I care about...So, I'm still waiting for Sheila's interview so I can review some of her songs...It'll be up soon I promise. I'm really looking forward to the big show on Saturday..... Dave Preston featuring sets by Dane Strom, Sheila Miller, and Sean Morse...If you can make it, you should come out. Stay tuned for Halloween pictures, we've gotten one in and I'm waiting for the rest still...~e
November 7 2003
Well ya'll, things have really picked up in villanovababy land. This site is getting so many hits it's just crazy....( I like to think it's my brilliant writing about my exciting life) or not.... :) I'm really excited about adding more reviews. I figured for next month I'll be reviewing Matt Nathanson, Rufus Wainwright and Dave Preston....(if his album gets done in time). I'm still waiting on those pictures from Halloween, but they'll get here eventually. I decided I'm definitely going home to Oregon for Christmas...I'm so excited, I can't wait to see everyone. My Dad is going to give me his guitar, and that is a really awesome Christmas present. I've been playing everyday for a while now. I don't suck as much as I did at first, but it's very difficult mastering all these new chords....(F#m can kiss my ass!) I've been writing a few songs too. I never realized how awesome it is to have this outlet, I swear I sleep better now that I am writing and playing.... well, that's about it for today..I'm looking forward to a nice, long, 4 day weekend, and I'll talk to you then.peace,~erin
November 5, 2003
Well guys, as I sit here writing this I am cursing the guy who invented the blues uniform. I've got two video teleconferences that I'm facilitating today and I feel like a giant blue whale. But it's all part of the gig, so I won't complain anymore. I'm starting to get that holiday feeling. Starting with Halloween and then on into Valentines day, I'm always excited about all the parties and dinners and stuff that go along with the holiday season. Especially this year, when I have so much to be thankful for. Last year and the year before, around this time, I really didn't have anyone special that I wanted to spend the time with...But this year, I've been fortunate enough to make some amazing new friends who really make being here in Denver so much more fun. So before I blab anymore, I'd like to thank Dane, Tim, Sheila, Dave and everyone else for being so damn cool. Ok, enough mushy stuff. I'm adding some pictures to the gallery today, so be sure to check that out... and I've started writing all my reviews for the music page. First up will be Bic Runga and Damien Rice...and on the local side, Sheila Miller. Hope you enjoy all the new stuff, talk soon,~e

Okay I'm back! Lots of updates coming up...been working on a little blurb about some musicians I think you all will enjoy, so stay tuned for that. My vacation was awesome. I think Tom had fun....we didn't do as much as I thought we would, the weather turned yucky, and with the fires and stuff, we decided not to go to the mountains. But we did have fun trying to find him a halloween costume...I swear we went to every shop on Broadway trying to find him a Fedora, but to no avail...so he went as a hobo. (Although a few people thought he was one of the guys from Clockwork Orange) My costume was finished just in time...I haven't gotten any decent pictures back yet, so I'll post a picture as soon as I can. Anyway, it was a long week and and this one is shaping up to be even longer...love to you all...~ e p.s. Dane did a bunch of updates to his site, so you should check it out... http://www.danestrom.com
